Alumni Update - Julie DiLonardo (Geneva)

DiLonardoJulieSenior pitcher Julie DiLonardo, a Plum High School graduate, was named the tournament Most Valuable Playerin leading the Geneva softball team to the Presidents' Athletic Conference title.

DiLonardo started and won all three games, pitching complete games in each. She allowed two runs and 12 hits in 21 innings with two walks and 20 strikeouts.

DiLonardo fired a four-hitter with two walks and eight strikeouts to lead Geneva to a 3-1 victory over Saint Vincent in the firt round.

In a 2-1 win over Westminster in a winners' bracket game, she singled home the tying run in the top of the fifth inning and also got the win by pitching a five-hitter while striking out three and walking none.

DiLonardo then pitched a three-hit shutout with no walks and eight shutouts in a 2-0 blanking of Thiel in the championship game.

Geneva earned an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Championships. The Golden Tornadoes won the PAC title for the first time.
