Hockey: South Feature Athlete - Plum's Joe Randazzo

Written by Chris Adamski on .

Name: Joe Randazzo
School: Plum
Class: 11
Sport: Hockey
Position: Forward

Background info: Randazzo had two goals in Monday's victory against Gateway, the second consecutive game he scored twice. Heading into Wednesday night's game against Latrobe, Randazzo had 13 goals and nine assists in 15 games played. That ranked him second on the team in goals and third in points.

Coach Dave Stonebraker says: "Joey's a solid, solid player -- and he is a very smart player. Joey is the type of player you can count on in almost any scenario. I can put him out there on the power play, I can put him out there on the penalty kill, and I always know we're going to get solid, solid minutes out of Joey. Not only is he a strong player; he's a smart player in terms of knowing his responsibilities. He's also a goal-scorer... Joey is just a pleasure to coach. He's a quiet boy, but he's not quiet on the ice. His personality is maybe quiet from the standpoint of speaking, if you will, but he always says a lot on the ice by his actions."
