Pine-Richland loses heartbreaker in PIAA girls lacrosse quarterfinals
Pine-Richland High's girls lacrosse team saw its season come to a painful close with a 12-10 loss to Penn Manor in a PIAA quarterfinal game played last Saturday at Penn State.
The Rams, ranked No. 2 in Western Pennsylvania according to Laxpower.com, finished the season at 17-4. After falling to Peters Township 21-18 in the WPIAL Division 1 championship game, the Rams defeated State College Area, 16-9, in a first-round PIAA game before falling to Penn Manor.
This was a solid season for the Rams, whose only losses came against Penn Manor, Shady Side Academy and Peters Township on two occasions.
A possible third meeting with Peters Township was not possible as the Indians lost to Penn Manor 17-13 in a first-round PIAA Division 1 tournament game.

After a 20-14 loss to Shady Side Academy, the Rams went on another five-game tear before their first loss to Peters Township by a 13-10 margin in a battle between the region's No. 1 and No. 2 teams.
