Peters Township is on a quest for an unprecedented third consecutive PIAA Class AAA title.

The Indians have won the last two PIAA championships. It defeated Archbishop Wood 1-0 in the 2010 PIAA final and Pennridge 1-0 in the 2011 PIAA final.

Standing in the Indians way is the third-place team out of District 3, Wilson (22-2-1). The teams will meet Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Chambersburg High School.

“We will game plan for them,” Peters Township coach Pat Vereb said. “But we like to focus a lot about what we do well and we hope they spend a lot of time game planning for us.”

Also playing in the PIAA semifinals are District 1 Neshaminy and District 3 Cumberland Valley. In the regular season Cumberland Valley defeated Peters Township 3-2.

It was one of the rare times that someone defeated the Indians. Over the last three seasons Peters Township is 65-6-1.
