Alumni Update - Nick Wilcox (Bethany)
Bethany senior forward Nick Wilcox, a Peters Township High School graduate, earned a spot on the D3News Preseason Top 24 Selections, the monthly newsletter choosing him as one of the top two dozen players in the nation in NCAA Division III.Wilcox was one of three players representing the Great Lakes Region, joining Wilmington junior forward Malcolm Heard and Hope senior forward Nate Snuggerud.
Following the 2011-12 season, Wilcox was named first-team All-Great Lakes Region by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and second-team by D3Hoops.com.
Wilcox was also named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Player of the Year and was an all-PAC selection for a third straight season. He led Bethany in scoring (14.8), steals (3.2) and assists (2.9) and ranked second on the team in rebounding (7.9).
Wilcox broke the school’s single-season (93) and career steals (224) records and is the first player in Bethany history to surpass 1,000 career points (1,129), 500 rebounds (591), 200 steals and 200 assists (224).
