Peters Township boys' golf team improves to 11-1
Peters Township High's boys golf team remained a match behind front-runner Upper St. Clair in the battle for the WPIAL Class AAA, Section 7 lead with a 191-207 section victory over Chartiers Valley in a match played at the Club at Nevillewood.
Josh Verner and Tommy Nettles led the Indians with even-par rounds of 36. Tyler Pollack (38), Connor Crane (40) and Jake Sollon (41) gave the Indians the needed depth to secure the victory. Later in the week, the Indians defeated West Allegheny 185-206.
The victories raised the Indians' overall record to 11-1. They are 6-1 in section competition.
Andy Kapfer and Connor Wasson led the 0-5 Colts with three-over-par rounds of 39. Drew Harris, Cole Wasson and Gino DiPardo had matching rounds of 43 to complete the Colts' scoring.
