Nicholas Tolomeo recaps Peters Township's win over Pine-Richland in the WPIAL Division I girls' lacrosse championship:

"The back-and-forth first half of the WPIAL girls lacrosse Division 1 championship featured six ties, three lead changes, and, most important, one giant momentum swing.

Trailing top-ranked Pine-Richland, 7-5, less than one minute before halftime, second-ranked Peters Township scored two quick goals to tie the score and gain momentum.

The Indians then scored four consecutive goals in the first five minutes of the second half to take a lead they would not relinquish on their way to a 21-18 win Thursday night at North Hills' Martorelli Stadium.

"The girls coming out and picking it up at the end of the first half was definitely huge," Peters Township coach Kristin Caponi said. "In the second half, we calmed down a little more, and all the girls stepped it up. They were scrappy until the end.""
