"The schedule makers threw a late-season test in the way of the Peters Township girls' lacrosse team and that grueling exam has slowed what looked like a runaway freight train a few weeks ago.

The Indians pretty much cruised through the first 10 games on their schedule, the closest outsome being a 14-11 victory against Mt. Lebanon.

But beginning with a game against Shady Side Academy on April 26, the ride got noticeably bumpier.

Peters Township was pushed to overtime against No. 3 Shady Side, ultimately prevailing 14-13.

The following Saturday it played host to Cleveland Heights, a strong team that plays Division 1 lacrosse in Ohio and is ranked No. 19 in the state and No. 4 regionally. Peters Township was edged, 11-10."
