Could OLSH-Girman rematch be on tap in baseball playoffs?

Written by Sports Town on .

With its backs to the wall, the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart had a tremendous week two weeks ago to propel the Chargers into the playoffs as the fourth seed in Class A.

That week, OLSH scored eight runs in the seventh inning after two were out and the bases empty against Chartiers-Houston (9th seeded) but, just as impressively, the Chargers ended the 29-game winning streak of Serra Catholic’s Alain Girman. Had either of those games gone the other way, OLSH wouldn’t be in the playoffs at all, let alone seeded highly.

Now the possibility of a rematch with Girman exists. OLSH plays Beth-Center (10-9) in the first round and Serra (12-5) plays Carmichaels (10-9). If both the favorites prevail, OLSH and Serra Catholic will meet in the second round with the pitching match to be determined.
