Late-season rush vaults OLSH into postseason

"Eight games into its season, the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School baseball team found itself at the proverbial fork in the road.

At 4-4, Phil McCarren wasn't sure which direction his Chargers would travel.

"We knew we would have some talent going into the season," the third-year coach said. "We had a tough start, but these kids didn't give up."

In fact, McCarren's team found the positive path and won nine of its next 10 games en route to clinching a WPIAL playoff berth."
