Mike White has the details on former Schenley athlete Greg Blair:"While his brother, DeJuan, plays in the NBA, Greg Blair is having a big finish to his college football career at the University of Cincinnati.
Blair, a senior linebacker and Schenley High School graduate, leads Cincinnati in tackles this season with 101. He also has 51/2 tackles for loss, two interceptions and 11/2 sacks for the Bearcats, who have a 7-3 record. In a 10-3 loss to Rutgers Saturday, Blair had a team-high 12 tackles.
Blair played football and basketball at Schenley and was a starter with DeJuan on Schenley's 2007 PIAA championship basketball team. DeJuan Blair now plays for the NBA's San Antonio Spurs. DeJuan had 19 points and eight rebounds in a recent game against the Denver Nuggets. Through the first seven games of the season, DeJuan was averaging 7.3 points and 5.0 rebounds.
Two former WPIAL basketball players at the University of Arkron had double-doubles in a recent game. McKeesport graduate Zeke Marshall, a senior center, had 12 points and 10 rebounds while Moon grad Brian Walsh, a senior guard, had 14 points and 10 rebounds in the Zips' 69-65 overtime loss against Oklahoma State."
