Report: Obama team shows success in first game plus weekend baseball schedule notes
A detailed report in the Obama Eagle has noted the team’s potential in the early going. The game took place on Monday (April 9), and the article reported that the Eagles defeated the visiting Oliver team 17-2. The report noted that the Obama team had good offensive contributions from Dan Wimer (three hits, 5RBI and Horace Pope (two hits). Defensive strategy had been centered around pitching as Career Connections’ Mike Noftz went five innings (the game was mercy-ruled).
