Oakland Catholic lacrosse team has tall task ahead

Written by Joe Koch on .

Oakland Catholic High's playoff hopes would get a considerable boost if the Eagles could pull off a considerable upset at Peters Township on Friday.

It's the second meeting between the 3-5 Eagles and the Indians, who are 10-0 and are the No. 1 team in Laxpower.com's Western Pennsylvania regional rankings. Oakland Catholic must not look ahead as the Eagles have a game with Upper St. Clair on Thursday. Upper St. Clair is 0-8, but four of their losses have been by three or fewer goals. Their most excruciating setback was an 11-10 loss to No. 10 Bethel Park on March 29.

In Oakland Catholic's first game with Peters Township on April 10, the Indians earned a 13-7 victory. Oakland Catholic ends the regular season on May 8 against another quality opponent, Shady Side Academy. In an earlier meeting, Shady Side earned a 14-9 victory.
