Alumni Update - Andrew Heck (Washington Wild Things)
Andrew Heck is getting his first taste of professional baseball this summer as the 23-year-old outfielder is playing for the Washington Wild Things of the independent Frontier League.And Heck is having a heckuva rookie year as he is leading the Wild Things with a .363 batting average in 20 games. The North Hills High School graduate also has one homer, nine RBIs and six stolen bases.
Heck finished his collegiate career at Oklahoma State in 2011and hit just .214 with four RBIs in 15 games after starring at Duquesne for three seasons. Heck transferred after Duquesne dropped its program at the end of the 2010 season.
Heck set single-season school records at Duquesne with 25 doubles and 91 hits.
