"Here's to another quarter century without a season that doesn't result in a playoff berth for North Allegheny.

At least that's what the Tigers are striving for upon qualifying for the WPIAL playoffs this spring after missing out on them a year ago for the first time since the mid-1980s.

North Allegheny rallied down the stretch, winning seven of its final 10 games to finish in second place behind Seneca Valley (15-3, 10-2) in Section 1-AAAA and clinching a postseason berth.

"There were some years there in that 25-year run where we had worse seasons than we had last year," Tigers coach Andy Maddix said, referring to a campaign in which they went 14-5 overall and 7-5 in section play."
