Alumni Update - Josh Wilson (Gwinnett Braves)
Josh Wilson has played for seven major-league teams in all or parts of five seasons of his itinerant 14-year career as an infielder in professional baseball.The Mt. Lebanon High School graduate is hoping to see action with a ninth team at some point this season as he is playing with the Atlanta Braves' Class AAA Gwinnett farm club in the International League. Wilson spent the majority of the previous three seasons in the majors.
Noted for his strong defensive work, the 31-year-old Wilson is hitting just .243 with three home runs and 19 RBIs in 71 games.
Wilson has a .227 lifetime batting average with nine homers and 67 RBIs in 356 major-league games with the Florida Marlins (2005), Washington Nationals (2007), Tampa Bay Rays (2007), Arizona Diamondbacks (2009, 2011), Seattle Mariners (2009-10) and Milwaukee Brewers (2011).
In 1,127 minor-league games over 13 seasons, Wilson has hit .279 with 79 homers and 538 RBIs.
