Mt. Lebanon girls lacrosse team bounces back

Written by Joe Koch on .

The fastest way to bounce back from a loss is to get a win in the following game.

That's what the Mt. Lebanon girls lacrosse team did on Thursday with a 12-7 victory over WPIAL Division 1, Section 1 rival Oakland Catholic in a game played at Central Catholic High's athletic field.

The win improved the Blue Devils' record to 8-4 heading into Monday's game at No. 8 Quaker Valley. The 6-3 Quakers have played two Top Ten teams this season, losing to both No. 6 Seneca Valley (8-7) and No. 3 Pine-Richland (10-7). Rematches with both of those teams take place next month for the Quakers.

The road, meanwhile, won't be easy for Mt. Lebanon.

After Tuesday's game at unranked Seton-LaSalle, the Blue Devils face two highly-ranked teams among its last four regular-season opponents. Mt. Lebanon visits No. 1 Peters Township on Thursday and visits No. 3 Pine-Richland on May 9. The Indians are 10-0, while the Rams are 10-1.
