"For the first time in five years, Mt. Lebanon High girls basketball coach Dori Oldaker found herself addressing the end of a season in a venue other than the Bryce Jordan Center on the Penn State campus.

Many teams would love to play in one PIAA championship game. The Mt. Lebanon girls had journeyed to State College to compete for a Class AAAA PIAA championship for the past four seasons. The Blue Devils had been successful in the 2009, '10 and '11 PIAA championship games with victories against Cardinal O'Hara (67-58), Archbishop Ryan (70-43) and Archbishop Carroll (47-46), respectively. Only their 2008 trip yielded something less than gold with a 56-49 loss to Central Dauphin.

The dreams of Mt. Lebanon's 2012 team, however, ended two steps short of a return to Happy Valley with a 37-32 loss to Oakland Catholic this past Friday night in a quarterfinal at Chartiers Valley High School."
