Mount Pleasant softball team sews up share of section title
Mount Pleasant went a long way to securing a section title with a 6-2 win over Greensburg Central Catholic last week.
It secured at least a share of that section title on Friday with a 12-1 win at Jeannette.
In the Greensburg Central Catholic game it was senior pitcher Leigha Pehrson limiting the Centurions to two runs and contributing at the plate with three hits. Senior catcher Shayla Landman came through with three RBIs in the win as well.
The Vikings (13-3, 9-1) have a leg up on the section ahead of Greensburg Central (9-4, 7-3) and Southmoreland (7-4, 5-3). It closes the section schedule with games against South Allegheny and Southmoreland on May 1 and 3.
