Mount Pleasant boys swimming team holds its own against bigger schools

The Class AA Mount Pleasant boys’ swim team split its first two dual meets of the season against a pair of Class AAA teams. The Vikings lost to Norwin and knocked off Connellsville.

Mount Pleasant is led by senior Brandon Springer. Last season at the WPIAL championships, Springer competed in four events.

He has qualified for the WPIAL championships all three years in the 100-yard backstroke and 100 butterfly. He also competed in two relays at WPIALs last season, the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay.

Other returning WPIAL qualifiers for Mount Pleasant are sophomore Dylan Ringer and junior Dillon Zarycki. Ringer competed in two relays at WPIALs along with the 100 backstroke while Zarycki competed on two relay teams.
