Both Moon lacrosse teams experience growing pains

Written by Joe Koch on .

The two lacrosse teams at Moon Area achieved the highs associated with established winning programs and the lows associated with teams that are getting accustomed to a sport where speed, agility and strength are crucial.

Coach Harry Watts' boys team finished with a 9-8 record that included a five-game winning streak that culminated in a 7-1 victory over WPIAL Division II playoff participant Winchester Thurston.

But any playoff hopes the Tigers might have harbored were dashed with a season-ending three-game losing streak, two of those losses coming against Division II, Section II rivals Chartiers Valley (12-1) and Seton-LaSalle (16-5).
