Monessen's Rawlins aspires to be next top-flight QB at WVU

Written by Brandon Boyd on .

Brandon Boyd has an update on Monessen's Chavas Rawlins:

"Monessen High School quarterback Chavas Rawlins hears the comparisons and does not shy away.

Pat White. Geno Smith. Two revered names in West Virginia University football annals.

Rawlins, a recent commit to WVU, wants to be right on their level, and with a Twitter handle of "@MrWVU_C3," he certainly is embracing the pressures that come with the comparisons.

Geno Smith -- whose success played a factor in Rawlins' decision -- is the player Rawlins fashions himself to be like.

"He's ranked top-three on Heisman lists," Rawlins said. "But when Geno came in, he wasn't so good at throwing and they built him up to be a good passer.""
