Latrobe hockey team showing balanced attack
Greater Latrobe has one of the best scorers in the PIHL Class AA in Josh Singley, who scored 43 points during the 2011-12 regular season.
But as the Wildcats showed in their season opener last Thursday against Kiski, they have plenty of capable scorers.
Six Latrobe players scored a goal in a 6-1 win over the Cavaliers. Singley, Adam Ferguson, Joseph Wright, Cameron Carr, Tanner Shaffer and Robert Vasinko all lit the lamp. Singley had a team-high three points in the win.
The Wildcats aren’t all about offense, though, as they have one of the better goaltenders in the league, too. Shane Brudnok stopped 18-of-19 shots to earn his first win of the season. Brudnok had 13 victories last season, six of which were shutouts.
