Alumni Update - Ryan Kissell (Carnegie Mellon)
Carnegie Mellon senior Ryan Kissell, a Greater Latrobe High School graduate, was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District Team for men's cross country and track and field for the 2011-12 season.CoSIDA recognizes outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments by honoring deserving athletes with All-Academic recognition with the official sponsor of Capital One. Carnegie Mellon is part of District 4 which is comprised of all Division III schools in the state of Pennsylvania.
This marks the second straight year that Kissell has been honored with the award.
Kissell, a chemical engineering major, carries a 3.95 GPA. He ended his career as a five-time All-University Athletic Association athlete in track and field after placing second at the 2012 UAA Championships in the long jump and third in the triple jump.
Kissell will now move on to the national ballot for Capital One Academic All-America consideration.
