Langley softball team facing major obstacle
For going 6-6 in the City League and finishing fourth, Langley has drawn the unenviable task of playing Brashear in the City League semifinals Monday.
Brashear has not lost a City League game since April 2009. In two regular-season meetings Brashear outscored Langley 27-3. For the Mustangs to have a chance to pull off a stunner, it will need to get off to a fast start.
“They have a few good hitters on their team,” Brashear coach Hank Hogle said. “It is important for us to get off to a good start and get an early lead and put them behind the eight ball.”
The game will begin at 3 p.m. at McGibbney Field in Brookline. The winner faces the winner of the other City League semifinal between Allderdice and Carrick.
