Alumni Update - Tim McNerney (Washington & Jefferson)

McNerneyTimWashington & Jefferson senior running back Tim McNerney was posthumously selected to the first team of the All-President's Athletic Football Team.

McNerney, a Knoch High School graduate, was a unanimous first-team pick. McNerney ran for 461 yards and four touchdowns on 89 carries in four games before his tragic death on Oct. 4 when he was found beaten to death near the Washington & Jefferson campus in Washington, Pa.

During his career, McNerney accumulated 2,336 yards and 30 touchdowns on the ground. Following its 31-14 victory over Waynesburg last Saturday, the team dedicated its 23rd PAC title to McNerney and his family in his memory.

Washington & Jefferson travels to Baltimore for a NCAA Division III first-round playoff game against Johns Hopkins on Saturday.
