Welsh's hat trick lifts Kiski Area hockey team

Shawn Welsh scored three goals, the last coming on the power play with less than three minutes to play, to lift Kiski Area to a 7-6 win over Franklin Regional in the season opener for both teams.

Welsh also added an assist in the win, while his teammate, John Shannon also had a hat trick.

Franklin Regional got four goals and an assist from Nico Ceccere, but the Panthers had 32 penalty minutes in the loss.
