Alumni Update - Kirstie Cortazzo (Gannon)
Gannon sophomore second baseman Kirstie Cortazzo, a Jeannette High School graduate, was named to the all-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West team in softball.Cortazzo led the team with a .342 average this season while starting 46 games at second base. The sophomore finished first on the team in slugging percentage (.530), hits (51), RBIs (32), doubles (13) and total bases (79).
Her .400 on-base percentage and 33 runs scored were both second-best among the team. Cortazzo hit .385 during 15 conference games this season with three home runs and 13 RBIs.
Cortazzo batted .357 with runners on (30-84) and .373 (22-59) with runners in scoring position for the Lady Knights.
Gannon earned a second-straight PSAC Tournament berth with a 30-17 record. Gannon was 10-6 in conference action this season.
