Alumni Update - Kirstie Cortazzo (Gannon)

CortazzoKirstieGannon sophomore infielder Kirstie Cortazzo was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference West Player of the Week as she hit .438 (7-for-16) with five runs scored, a double, three home runs and seven RBI to help Gannon to a 3-1 mark last week.

She compiled a 1.063 slugging percentage and an OPS of 1.501.

In a doubleheader sweep of Seton Hill, Cortazzo had three hits and two RBI, including a home run in a come-from-behind win in the second game. In a doubleheader split with California, Cortazzo was the biggest reason behind Gannon's win as she blasted a pair of home runs and went 3-for-5 with five RBI. She first got the Golden Knights on the scoreboard with a solo home run and then, in the eighth inning, blasted a grand slam in the 9-4 win.
