Photo journal: Hampton boys’ soccer team victorious in WPIAL Class AA Championship

On Saturday, November 5, 2011, the Hampton Talbots scored three unanswered goals for the championship win over Belle Vernon. Two of the three goals were scored by junior midfielder Chris Delposen in the first 17 minutes. Both Hampton and Belle Vernon have already won their first-round PIAA tournament games; Hampton beat Punxsutawney 6-0 and Belle Vernon beat Obama 1-0. PIAA quarterfinals will happen this coming Saturday.

Many boys’ teams get ‘hawked up for playoffs, but no one’s ever done it like the Talbots. Cara De Carlo of Tri-State Sports and News was at the game to get pictures of the win and the haircuts.
