Keystone Oaks receiver Rogers transfers to Gateway

Written by Mike White on .

Mike White tells what's going on in recruiting, starting with Keystone Oaks' Ricky Rogers:

"Ricky Rogers, a top football player in the WPIAL Class of 2014, will be playing for a different team this season.

Rogers, who was a starting receiver as a freshman and sophomore at Keystone Oaks, enrolled at Gateway High School, according to Gateway coach Terry Smith.

Rogers is a 6-foot-3, 190-pound junior who already has a scholarship offer from Rutgers. Rogers has been home-schooled while living in the Keystone Oaks district. Smith said that although Rogers now has a residence in the Gateway district, he will continue to be home-schooled.

Rogers also attended Lincoln Park for a few months as a freshman. It is highly likely the WPIAL will have a hearing on the transfer. Gateway has been a destination for a number of transfers in recent years."
