Alumni Update - Matt Rossi (Clarion)

RossiMattClarion senior first baseman Matt Rossi, a Gateway High School graduate, was a second-team pick on the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West baseball team.

Rossi earns his second all-conference nod after also being the second-team first baseman in 2009. Clarion’s all-time home run leader with 20, he also ranks third in school history with 106 RBIs, second with 165 hits, third with 87 runs scored and third with 260 total bases while playing in the second-most games ever by a Golden Eagle (167).

A .319 career hitter, Rossi was fourth on the squad this year with a .291 average while leading the team with seven home runs and 33 RBIs. He tied with Morgan for second in doubles with 12 and had a .854 OPS.

Clarion went 12-28 overall and 9-15 in the PSAC West this season.
