As a Chicago Cub, Hall-of-Famer Ernie Banks was famous for his phrase “Let’s play two” any time he was asked how he was doing.

The shortstop-turned-first baseman would have been especially proud of the Ellwood City High School team this past Saturday.

Ellwood City boys' tennis team hopes it has strength in numbers

Ellwood City boys tennis coach Keith Golebie was impressed with the turnout for his team this season.

“We have a big team,” Golebie said. “It was a nice surprise. We have a lot of kids who have never played tennis before.”

The Wolverines have four returning starters, led by senior Matt Barnes.
