Coach Keith Golebie says: "He works hard to improve and get better and works hard on the courts. He does a good job trying to figure out the approach of each player in the section. You play each other a lot over the course of a season, so you get to know each other, and Matt uses that to his advantage more than most. He's good at figuring out what he needs to do to win a match. He's a good leader on the team... Matt is involved in a lot of things, musicals, some academic competitions. He's a well-rounded kid who puts it all out there every match."
