Alumni Update - Dan Altavilla (Mercyhurst)

Meryhurst freshman relief pitcher Dan Altavilla, an Elizabeth Forward High School graduate, was a first-team pick on the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West baseball team

Altavilla has posted a 5-0 record with a 1.07 earned run average in a team-leading 14 appearances. He has limited opposing hitters to a .184 batting average, striking out 35 batters in 25.1 innings.

He has not allowed a run in 9.1 innings during conference play, walking one and striking out 14.

The Lakers enter the PSAC Tournament as the top seed in the West for the second straight year. Mercyhurst will play the fourth seed in the East, Millersville, in the team's first game of the double elimination tournament.

The tournament gets underway on Wednesday the Mercyhurst-Millersville game being the final game of day one. First pitch is scheduled to begin around 6:30 p.m. at Pullman Park in Butler.
