PIAA Playoffs: Shutout keeps Clairton's streak rolling
Mike Mastovich recaps the game, Clairton versus Berlin Brothersvalley:
"SOMERSET, Pa. -- The records continue piling up for Tyler Boyd and the Clairton Bears.
Boyd rushed for 227 yards and five touchdowns in a 53-0 win against Berlin Brothersvalley in a PIAA Class A quarterfinal Friday night at Somerset High School.
Boyd became the WPIAL's all-time career touchdown leader with 114, and Clairton extended its state-record winning streak to 61 games by defeating the District 5 champions.
"It means a lot to me," said Boyd, who broke the record of 110 touchdowns set by Hopewell's Rushel Shell from 2008-11. "It feels sort of like the game we broke the record with 60 wins. Rushel Shell is one of the greatest players in the [history of the] WPIAL. This is great for me.""
