Clairton Bears football team heading to D.C.

Written by Margaret Smykla on .

Margaret Smykla has the details as the Clairton Bears football team travels to D.C.:

"It is not quite like winning the Super Bowl, but the three consecutive titles won by Clairton High School Bears' football team is more than a little Steeler-esque.

The Bears, the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class A state champions, follow a well-worn path that victorious football teams travel: Win a championship -- then make a trip to Washington, D.C.

Saturday, in recognition of their accomplishments, the Bears will travel by bus to the nation's capital to tour the White House, the Capitol Building and the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial, among other sites."
