Franks carries offensive load for Chartiers Valley hockey team

Written by Ryan Riordan on .

Anthony Franks started where he left off last season.

The Chartiers Valley senior was pivotal in the team’s 6-2 win in the season opener against Gateway 6-2, scoring three goals and assisting on another. Franks also had one of the team’s two short-handed goals in the contest.

Franks was the team’s second-leading scorer last regular season with 31 points (10 goals, 21 assists). Franks also had three goals in the Class AA playoffs.

But the team lost 53-goal scorer Justin Sabilla, so Franks is being looked upon to carry more of the scoring.
