Central Valley football team three points from perfect
Central Valley saw its season end Friday night at North Allegheny’s Newman Stadium with a loss to West Mifflin in the WPIAL Class AAA semifinals but that won’t end fans from referring to this as the season that almost was.
The Warriors finished 9-3 but all three losses were by a single point and two came in overtime. Ironically, both overtime losses had to do with a two-point conversion in the first overtime. The first loss came against Montour when the Warriors went for two for the win but Robert Foster was stopped short and Montour won 28-27.
The most recent loss to West Mifflin came when the Titans went for two and made it. Foster again figured prominently in the decision. He scored three touchdowns in the 36-35 loss, gained 160 yards rushing, had 20 yards rushing, and returned a kickoff for a score. He also had 14 tackles and three times ran down WPIAL sprint champ James Wheeler from behind.
Foster will soon decide between Pitt and Alabama as his college choice.
