Central soccer’s Broujos, All-Section, All-WPIAL, and All-State; Doaty to join all-star game
The 2012 soccer season featured a young team for Central (14-4-0, 11-1-0). The Vikings started six sophomores. But it was a season of success, nonetheless.
Seniors Zach Broujos and Torey Doaty have both received honors. Broujos has been named All-Section (3-AAA), All-WPIAL (District VII), and All-State (Pennsylvania). Similarly, Doaty was named All-WPIAL. Both seniors will play in the All-WPIAL All-Star soccer game on Nov. 24.
Head Coach Claudio Morini said that all of his players play on club teams throughout the entire year, but that he does not organize any of their soccer training outside of Central Catholic’s team. He did note that he was very pleased with the 2012 season.
“I’m happy with my team,” he said. “Being very young, we still achieved a lot. We won the section -- I didn’t expect that. The kids are very professional, very dedicated to the club and to working very, very hard in the season with me.”
