Central Catholic baseball team hopes new day provides different results

Written by Brad Everett on .

Central Catholic was held without a run in its WPIAL Class AAAA semifinal game against Seneca Valley Monday night.

Luckily for the Vikings, the game never ended.

Threatening weather forced the suspension of Monday’s game, but the contest will resume this afternoon at 4 p.m. at Upper St. Clair. When it does, defending champion Seneca Valley will hold a 2-0 lead with Central Catholic batting in the bottom of the third inning.

The Raiders scored one of their runs on a throwing error and the other on an infield single.

Both teams already know who will await them in the championship game should they gain the victory today. Mt. Lebanon edged North Allegheny, 3-2, in the other semifinal on Monday.
