Donoghue, a Butler High School and the team captain, was named first-team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and second-team Daktronics All-Region earlier this fall.

Donoghue had a team-high four assists. He played center back on a defensive unit that allowed 18 goals in 21 games.

Slippery Rock finished the season with a record of 11-4-6 and advanced to the PSAC championship game, where it lost 1-0 to Mercyhurst. The six ties were the most in school history in a single season.
