Alumni Update - Becky Smith (Mercyhurst)

Mercyhurst senior middle blocker Becky Smith was a second-team selection on the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Women's Volleyball Team.

Smith, a Butler High School graduate, is second in the league in blocks with 1.12 per set, which ranks 31st in NCAA Division II. She is second on the team with 246 kills and is hitting .247.

Smith tallied 16 kills on two different occasions in 2012.

In her career, Smith is third in total blocks (359) and block assists (307) in program history.

The Lakers are 25-10, qualifying for the PSAC Tournament for the first time since 2008. The NCAA Tournament selection show is set for Sunday night.

Mercyhurst was ranked seventh in the Atlantic Region last week. The top eight teams advance to the NCAA Tournament.
