Burgettstown boys' golf team unbeaten in section
Burgettstown High's boys golf team improved to 6-0 in WPIAL Class AA, Section 4 with a commanding 191-225 victory over Bishop Canevin on Wednesday at Ponderosa Golf Course. Owen Miller, a junior, paced all competitors with an even-par round of 35.
As a sophomore, Miller placed fifth in the WPIAL Division 2, Section 4 tournament with a four-over-par round of 75. At the Division 2 championship, he missed qualifying for the overall WPIAL championship by three strokes when he shot an 81 at the Division 2 championship at Treesdale Golf and Country Club.
This year, Division 2 has been reclassified as Class AA, and competitors will be able to contend for state championship honors on the Class AA level.
