Brashear softball season ends with Erie McDowell in state play-in game
The Bulls went to the state tournament to play against Erie McDowell, but came out with a 7-1 loss. The game happened in Brookline at McGibbney field.
Head coach Hank Hogle did note that his team sometimes feels a few nerves when playing teams from districts other than its own. But for Brashear softball players, the game is never over.
Hogle noted that there would be 11 returning ball players next spring for Brashear. He also mentioned that there are some nice players coming into the organization as well. The girls will play summer travel ball as well as fall ball through organizations like Road Runners, Power, and Diamond Stars. Some will even play in the winter in domes. “They play almost year round,” Hogle said.
The state tournament is not a continual point of emphasis for the Brashear softball team. But the goal is always there.
“During the season we take things one game at a time,” said Hogle. “But our biggest goal is to make an impact in the state playoffs.”
With an experienced organization of year-round players, Hogle and Brashear should be able to meet this goal…
