Alumni Update - Brian Omogrosso (Charlotte Knights)

Brian Omogrosso, a Blackhawk High School graduate, has been a handyman in the bullpen for the Chicago White Sox's Class AAA Charlotte farm club this season.

The right-hander has pitched in various roles, most recently stepping in as an occasional closer. In all, he is 0-1 with two saves and a 4.09 ERA in 21 games.

Omogrosso, 27, was the White Sox's sixth-round draft pick in 2006 and received a $105,000 signing bonus. He was ranked as the White Sox's 19th-best prospect following the 2008 season but has been hampered by injuries in recent years.

Omogrosso has a 19-20 career record in the minor leagues with 12 saves and a 3.83 ERA in 164 games, including 33 starts, over seven seasons.
