Alumni Update - Tess Wolfe (Robert Morris)
Robert Morris had the second-best team score in the final round of play at the Northeast Conference Women's Golf Championship on Sunday at Daytona Beach, Fla., moving up two spots in the standings to finish fifth in the 11-team field.Junior Tess Wolfe, a Blackhawk High School graduate, eclipsed her career-best score for the second consecutive day.
Saturday, Wolfe shot the lowest round of her career on the Championship Course at the LPGA International. Sunday, she did two strokes better, carding a two-over par round of 74. The junior carded birdies on the par-five fifth hole and the par-four 15th while taking just two bogeys and one double-bogey.
She was the lone RMU representative to finish in the top-10, finishing in a tie for ninth overall with a 233 total.
LIU Brooklyn shot the lowest round of the tournament Sunday to erase a nine-stroke deficit and win the team title with a three-round total of 919. Fairleigh Dickinson finished second with a 924 followed by Monmouth (941), Sacred Heart (955), Robert Morris (962), Saint Francis (Pa.) (968), Central Connecticut State (971), Wagner (980), Quinnipiac (1,039), Mount St. Mary's (1,045) and St. Francis (N.Y.) (1,191).
