The Pope may be new, but this Bishop has some experience -- Bishop Canevin beat Seton-LaSalle as the final seconds of this game ticked down:
The Crusaders' Carly Forse shot for 17 points in this game.
Bishop Canevin couldn’t find the back of the net against Pine-Richland at even strength in its 3-2 loss Tuesday night in the PIHL Class AA semifinal.
But on the power play, the Crusaders were lethal, led by their point man Brennen Adams.
The junior defenseman was credited with two goals, although Bishop Canevin coach said Garrett Godlewski deflected one of the goals into the net.
Last week: Olkosky tied a WPIAL girls championship game record with seven 3-pointers and scored a game-high 26 points in leading Bishop Canevin to its first WPIAL
title with a 56-47 win in the Class AA final last Friday at Palumbo Center.
Check this out: Olkosky, a junior guard, has been a starter since late in her freshman season. She has played in two WPIAL championship games, the other being last
year's loss to Seton-LaSalle. The two-time defending champion Rebels had beaten Bishop Canevin eight consecutive times. Bishop Canevin plays Westmont Hilltop in a PIAA first-round playoff game tonight at North Hills.
For the first time in school history, Bishop Canevin is a WPIAL girls’ basketball champion.
A balanced offense has played a big part in that.
Bishop Canevin defeated Seton-LaSalle, 56-47, to win the Class AA championship Saturday at Palumbo Center.
