"Crusaders brief slowdown puts chill on Steel Valley's red-hot shooters" - by Brad Everett.

"With Steel Valley shooting lights out and his team's top two scorers in early foul trouble, Bishop Canevin coach Tim Joyce decided to lull the Ironmen to sleep. The decision helped the Crusaders move one step closer to their dream.

Second-seeded Bishop Canevin overcame an early deficit by going on a 26-4 run and rolled into the WPIAL championship game for the first time by defeating No. 11 seed Steel Valley, 63-52, in a Class AA girls semifinal at West Allegheny.

After passing its first exam in the all-Section 5 final four, the Crusaders (24-1) must cram for one against top-seeded and defending champion Seton-LaSalle Friday. The WPIAL's lone unbeaten team defeated the Crusaders, 68-60 and 61-50, in the regular season."
