Motivated Bethel Park girls qualify for lacrosse playoffs

Nicholas Tolomeo has the details on how the Bethel Park girls' lacrosse team got to the 2012 WPIAL playoffs.

"The bus ride from Hampton High School to Bethel Park High School can be a long one -- it can be even longer if your season just ended.

That is the situation the Bethel Park girls lacrosse team dealt with last season. It lost in the WPIAL Division 2 semifinals to North Hills, 13-7, at a neutral site, Hampton's Fridley Field.

"Most of my varsity kids were on that bus on the way home," Bethel Park coach Becky Luzier said. "Sometimes you want to coach them to have short memories, but I don't want any of them to forget that bus ride. It was a long ride home. They were not happy. I was not happy.""
